A Very Special Gift for Some
Very Special Kids
For the first time in 15 years a Special Olympic Floor Hockey
team will represent the State of Georgia in the 2005 Special
Olympics of Southern California Floor Hockey Competition. The
competition will take place in San Diego, California on January
28 - 30, 2005. Over 90 teams will be competing from all over
the United States, Canada and even Tokyo, Japan. The Dekalb
County Special Olympics will be the only team representing the
State of Georgia thanks in part to business leaders Stanley
Kelley and Tom DeMilio of Loganville, Georgia.

Stanley Kelley of The Community Bank and Tom DeMilio of the
Wayne Thomas Group each presented a check in the amount of
$5000 to Dekalb County Special Olympics to make this dream
a reality. The floor hockey team will consist of twelve very
grateful and anxious high school age boys and girls from Dekalb
County Special Olympics.
The checks were presented to Boni Powell (DCSO Director),
Kim Attaway (DCSO Local Coordinator), and Tanya Blakey (DCSO
Local Coordinator) of the DeKalb County Special Olympics.
